Holy Cross (St. Louis City)

Holy Cross is a permanently closed Catholic parish in St. Louis City, MO. The parish was founded in 1863. The parish closed in 1993.

German originally predominated. Though it also included French and Irish initially, the Irish split off in 1872 to form Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Many of the early settlers were from Baden, Germany. Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Holy Cross merged to form Our Lady of the Holy Cross in 1993.
