St. Columbkille (St. Louis City)

St. Columbkille is a permanently closed Catholic parish in St. Louis City, MO. The parish was founded in 1872. The parish closed in 1952.

St. Columbkille was established in 1872 as an Irish National church. It was to serve Irish iron workers of the nearby Vulcan Iron Works, but when the ironworks closed down, the parish population dwindled. (History of St. Louis Neighborhoods-Carondelet) It was formed out of Saints Mary and Joseph.
